If you transfer your copy of The Sims completely to you friend, there should be no problem.
#HOW TO UNINSTALL THE SIMS ON MAC MODS#
I'm not big on using Mods - so can't really recommend anything. I've read that there are some Mods that address this problem, but you'd have to google it. You can also try clicking to skip the video while simultaneously inserting the disc. If the game starts but gives you the disc authentication error after the start up video, I found that if I waited to insert the DVD until the last second of the video the disc would be recognized. I had disc authentication problems when I first got The Sims 3. There should be no problem with the code being "used" I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Check carefully - some letters and numbers are easy to confuse.
#HOW TO UNINSTALL THE SIMS ON MAC SERIAL NUMBER#
If you're having problems with the serial number - make sure you are entering it exactly as shown. TM can save you a lot of headaches (and heart aches) and Snow Leopard is worth the 30 bucks. If you don't have OS X 10.6X and aren't using Time Machine to back up you Mac, I would strongly suggest you start. Since you've already done the drag to trash thing, you might try creating a new User Account and seeing if you can reinstall in the new account. You can also use something like AppZapper to uninstall the games. It's also easier than hunting down all the files yourself. This will insure you completely uninstall all the files and folders associated with the game. It should be inside "The Sims 3" folder inside you Applications folder. The best way to uninstall The Sim is with the uninstaller that comes with the games.
